Experienced Retail CCTV Operator - Central Auckland

We are seeking an experienced CCTV Operator to join our team at one of our retail sites located in central Auckland. This permanent role will support loss prevention and safety across the site by monitoring CCTV systems, reporting incidents, and working collaboratively with on-site teams. Working day shifts on a variety of days the successful applicant must be available 0700-1930.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor CCTV footage across multiple retail sites in real time to detect suspicious or unsafe behaviour and potential loss events
Operate recording and retrieval systems, ensuring footage is correctly logged and archived according to policy
Report incidents promptly and accurately to supervisors, retail managers and, where required, emergency services
Support on-site security teams by providing directed camera coverage and real-time information during incidents
Prepare clear written incident reports and provide evidence packages for investigations or prosecutions
Maintain awareness of health and safety obligations and contribute to a safe workplace culture
Preferred Requirements:
Proven experience operating commercial CCTV systems in retail or security environments.
Strong observational skills and exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to stay focused during extended monitoring periods and identify subtle risks or inconsistencies.
Excellent written and verbal communication, including clear, concise incident reporting.
Able to assess situations quickly, make sound judgments, and solve problems proactively—even with limited information.
Remains calm, professional, and composed under pressure or in emergency situations.
Demonstrates integrity, discretion, and a strong commitment to confidentiality.
Works effectively both independently and as part of a team, collaborating confidently with colleagues, contractors, and emergency services.
Approachable, respectful, and customer‑focused in all interactions.
Accountable, reliable, and takes ownership of responsibilities.
Flexible with shift patterns and adaptable to changing circumstances.
Preferred Qualifications and Checks:
Hold a current Certificate of Approval (COA) or be eligible to obtain one.
Minimum age of 18 years and eligibility to work in New Zealand.
Current Police Vetting clearance or ability to obtain and maintain vetting
Experience in roles requiring vigilance, responsibility, or decision-making under pressure (e.g., security, emergency services, customer service, hospitality).
Willingness to learn technical systems and procedures through structured training.
