Red Badge Group is seeking reliable and professional individuals to join our team as Construction Security Guards based in Auckland Central. In this role you will help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment across active construction sites, protecting people, assets, and materials while providing excellent customer service to site teams and stakeholders. This is an operational frontline role suited to someone with practical security experience, strong situational awareness, and a commitment to health and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide a visible and approachable security presence across construction sites, deterring unauthorised access and theft.

• Control site access using sign‑in/out procedures, permit systems, and visitor management in line with client requirements.

• Conduct regular foot patrols of site perimeters, compounds, welfare areas, and storage zones; promptly report hazards or security breaches.

• Monitor CCTV, alarms, gates, and other security systems where provided, and escalate faults or incidents according to site protocols.

• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, liaising with site management, contractors, and emergency services as required.

• Prepare accurate and timely incident reports, daily logs, and handover notes using company systems.

• Enforce site rules and health & safety requirements, wearing appropriate PPE and supporting safe work practices at all times.

• Assist with site tasks such as locking/unlocking, key control, and supporting town‑to‑town handovers as directed by supervisors.

Required Skills and Experience

• Previous experience in construction, site, or similar static security roles is preferred.

• Current New Zealand Certificate of Approval (COA) security licence, or ability to obtain one.

• Sound knowledge of health & safety practices and ability to follow site safety plans and permit to work systems.

• Strong observational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.

• Good written and verbal communication skills for report writing and stakeholder engagement.

• Physically fit and able to carry out foot patrols as needed.

• Clean criminal conviction record and eligibility to work in New Zealand (18 years or over).
