Red Badge Group is looking for a reliable and alert Retail Security Officer to join our team on a site in Henderson, West Auckland. You’ll help create a safe and welcoming environment for customers, retail staff, and visitors while providing a professional security presence. If you enjoy working with people and can stay calm and attentive in a busy setting, we’d like to hear from you.
This role has a set roster of day shifts on a Wednesday - Saturday - 0900-1900 except on Thursdays the hours are 1900-0030.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain a visible, professional security presence within the retail environment
Deliver friendly and helpful customer service while supporting the safety of customers and staff
Monitor access points and follow site access control procedures
Remain alert to potential risks, suspicious activity, and changing situations
Respond appropriately to incidents and escalate concerns when required
Write clear, accurate incident reports and maintain relevant records
Communicate effectively with customers, retail staff, colleagues, and management
Work collaboratively as part of a team and follow site procedures
Follow Red Badge Group’s health & safety requirements and professional standards
Requirements
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to follow access control procedures and site instructions
Clear written communication skills, including the ability to complete incident reports
A professional demeanour, integrity, and a strong sense of responsibility
Alertness and sound judgement when responding to incidents or identifying potential risks
Ability to work well as part of a team while remaining dependable and attentive
Previous retail security, security, or customer service experience is an advantage
Eligible to work in New Zealand and at least 18 years of age
Hold, or be able to obtain, a current NZ COA (Certificate of Approval) security licence
Flexibility to work the set roster pattern of Wed-Saturday shifts, with late night Thursdays.
